Description
A concept study of Germanic Women Warrior for the Late Antiquity HWS Project: Rise of Kings and Queens which aims to portray Women Warriors of various cultures in a fictitious anachronistic historical settings based on the Migration Era. As described, the project deals with the late antiquity era which covers the fall of the Roman Empire, Germanic Migration, Sassanids Juggernaut and the Hunnic Invasion
While record of Germanic women taking part in armed conflict during this era were rare and non-existent, given the fact that war was raging pretty much everywhere, at the very least it would have been more common for the women-folk to take up arms in defense....or offense if the situation demands it.
The inspiration are based on the archaeological findings from 4th-7th century AD, some of which are pretty familiar, such as the Vendel Helmets, Spangenhelm, decorated saxon/gothic swords as well as other equipment. While the series aims for practical portrayal of armor, anachronism and stylization may be present.
